It is important to note that a qualified sponsorship will include any payment made by a person engaged in a trade or business for which the person will receive no substantial return benefit other than the use or acknowledgment of the business name, logo, or product lines in connection with the organization’s exempt activities. “Use or acknowledgment” does not include advertising the sponsor’s products or services. The organization’s activities include all its activities, whether or not related to its exempt purposes. Also, consistent with the policies of the Awaken to One Alliance, such sponsorship is limited to organizations that ascribe to our exempt purposes (i.e. to uplift all people from a sense of hopelessness and separateness) irrespective of whether an individual, a corporation or other entity is for profit or non-profit.
